What to Expect
Because Methylene Blue is a naturally deep blue compound, temporary blue coloration of the tongue or mouth may occur after use. This is normal and harmless, and typically fades quickly.
WARNING
- Consult your physician prior to use if you are pregnant or nursing, or taking any medications.
- Avoid use with antidepressants such as SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, or other serotonergic agents.
- Do not use if you have a known G6PD deficiency or liver or kidney impairment.
- May cause blue discoloration of urine. This is a harmless side effect.
- Due to its deep blue color, Methylene Blue may stain clothing, fabrics, carpets, or other surfaces if spilled. Handle with care when using.
