Inclusion, Awareness, and Acceptance | Hank - Not Your Average Chair

Over the years I have had a front row seat to a special project. It is a project of inclusion, awareness, and acceptance. You could call it Handicap This’ baby brother. It is a fictional story about Hank and Allie authored by the Creative Crusader himself, Denis Berkson, aka Mike’s Dad. Hank is not your average wheelchair. Hank has feelings and can talk. Allie has cerebral palsy and is not able to walk. Allie is able to travel from place to place thanks to Hank. This story is about Hank and Allie’s relationship and how it will open your eyes to see the greatness in others.

When Denis told me about his idea for this book, my first thought was who better to write it. Denis has been an advocate for over 26 years. He has lived the trials and tribulations. His creativity is off the charts and he knows how to pull good stuff out of any situation. One of the greatest gifts our team with Handicap This receives after a performance or a speech is hearing our audiences’ stories. What happens on stage is very much a microcosm of the stories we hear. I believe that Denis was motivated to share his expertise and wisdom on a bigger platform by writing this book for all of you.

Inclusion, awareness, and acceptance have become buzzwords in schools and Denis has created a story that hits you in the feels. It will educate, it will broaden your understanding, and it will help you become a better you. If you are looking to give the gift of understanding this is a must have book on your shelf.
