US Hemp Roundtable Calls for Congress to Stop Using Hemp Killing Language & Bans
The Mary Miller Amendment is an amendment to the Farm Bill that seeks to redefine hemp to exclude products containing intoxicating or synthetically derived cannabinoids, such as Delta-8 THC. Its goal is to close a loophole from the 2018 Farm Bill that allowed the proliferation of these products, which critics say are unregulated and pose a public safety risk.
This bill was frowned upon by those in power at the US Hemp Roundtable, whom support synthetic and natural hemp derivatives.
Hemp suppliers and industry leaders still don't see eye to eye on The Mary Miller Amendment. Natural Healthy had to step in stating Delta 8 was synthetic and we didn't want to have anything to do with it in its current state. (See Here.)
Regulations remain confused with the president considering completely rescheduling marijuana as a whole, however the US Hemp Roundtable and some of our business partners are now sending out alerts again to those on both sides of the aisle.

In further news, Senator Rand Paul has warned that hemp could be banned in a matter of weeks. This is not a drill.
Powerful members of Congress are pushing language that would federally criminalize hemp products with any THC, effectively banning more than 95% of hemp consumables on the market today. If they succeed, the U.S. hemp extract industry could be wiped out as early as this Thanksgiving.
